What happens on Sunday?

We seriously and joyously come together to share in our new life through the gospel of Jesus Christ. You will find that we are passionate about turning our minds away from ourselves and toward God during every aspects of corporate worship.

Singing

As the Body of Christ, we’re commanded to be unified in the Spirit and truth, but also worship in spirit and truth. One way we do this is through corporate singing. In Colossians we’re commanded to sing to one another in songs, hymns, and spiritual songs, admonishing and teaching with all thankfulness. We take this seriously at The Vine. Our songs are a blend of contemporary, hymns, and originals, all of which are carefully chosen and written for their rich theology and lyrics. We understand that singing is important for discipling, encouraging, and at times, even rebuking. Singing is a vital part of the life and health of our flock.

Preaching

We are Word-centered in our preaching. This means we approach the Bible with a view to submit ourselves to what it commands as we embrace what it reveals about God, man, and this age in which we live. Typically, we work through books of the Bible, verse-by-verse, taking the point of the passage as the point of the message. Our goal is to bring out the meaning of the text in such a way that each person is confronted with the glory of God and what He calls us to be in light of His person and work.

Lord's Supper

As a people gathered in the name of Jesus Christ, we remember Jesus’ great work on our behalf. Each week, we pause to remember what Jesus has accomplished for sinners through His body and blood. As we eat and drink, we reflect on the truth that Christ has pardoned our sin, adopted us as children, and unified us into one body. The Lord’s Supper is a sober, but joyful time to give Christ praise, glory, and thanks for this marvelous act of love.

Giving

We serve a God who is lavish in His generosity. So when we consider the spirit and motive of giving, we should pause and consider the model we find in our Triune God. The Father freely gave us His Son, freeing us from the enslavement of sin and death. The Son freely came and laid down His life, bringing us into the household of God. The Spirit was freely poured out upon us, sealing us until the day of our full redemption. Therefore, when we give, it should be motivated and modeled after what God has first done for us.

Mission Groups

At The Vine we’re convinced Sundays are absolutely essential, but not fully sufficient. We find many are bored with their faith or not certain of their purpose as a Christian. In Matthew 28:16-20, Jesus is clear the Church has a definitive mission and purpose—to make disciples. Our Mission Groups are not only a great way to care for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ, but also provide a helpful way to come along side one another as we seek to evangelize and make disciples. We hope you can get connected with one of our Mission Groups on a Sunday while you’re here. For more information, please  email us.

What are my childcare options?

The Vine is a safe place for our kids to discover the glory of God. Classrooms have engaging activities, but also sober times of discovering the Triune God as He’s been revealed in His Word. We provide simple childcare for infants through toddlers, and age-directed teaching for children three years through Sixth Grade. Infant and toddler care is available from the start to the finish of the service. Three year olds through Sixth Graders are brought into the Worship Service after the sermon to join in the music portion of our worship gathering. If you have a child with special needs, please email The Vine and let us know how we can serve you!
