God's Purpose in Our Weakness

Why does God allow weakness and trouble in life? Is there a goal to such affliction? Paul gives purposes for our pain. For the unbeliever, difficulty is the result of living in a fallen, broken world. But for the Christian, God is doing exceedingly beautiful things in our pain. Paul pours out his heart in the passage, giving us insight into how the Apostle himself viewed such God-permitted weaknesses in his life.
